Fixing the Outlook SMTP Error

Outlook '97, '98 and Express
sometimes develop an error on sending out email
from Windows '95 machines. Microsoft recommends that you uninstall
and
re-install the Windows Messaging Component, you will need your Windows
'95
installation CD-ROM:
- Click on your
"Start" button
- Click on "Settings"
- Click on "Control
Panel"
- Double-click on
"Add/Remove Programs"
- Click on the "Windows
Setup" tab
- Scroll down the
list of installed components
- Uncheck the "Windows
Messaging" checkbox by clicking on it
- Click on "Apply"
- Reboot your computer
- After reboot follow
steps 1 through 6 again
- Check the "Windows
Messaging" checkbox by clicking on it
- Click on "Apply"
- Reboot your computer
If you continue to experience
difficulty after following these steps, we
recommend contacting Microsoft Tech Support or trying another email
program. We recommend the following:
TUCOWS has a variety of cheap and/or
free mail programs.
Netscape has a mail client built in.
EudoraLite is a nice full featured program.
